UHD Cadets Ace State Exams

By: Mary Ann Cozza

Two classes from the UHD Criminal Justice Training Center, one with 32 cadets and one with 41 cadets, scored a 100 percent passing rate on the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) state exam last week.

According to Rex White, director of the CJTC, there have been 120 cadets to take and pass the exam in 2012 on the first try and only one student required a re-test. There will be five additional classes to take the exam this year, and White said the goal of the department is to continue the 100 percent passing rate.

The academy includes 700 hours of training and one week of objective review before the final exam and the state exam. According to White, the UHD academy is well above average with their exam results.
